What is Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Curriculum?
The EYFS is a British play-based curriculum for children from birth to five years. Children experience the world and learn to interact with others by playing. Children at Kids Academy Nursery enjoy a balanced routine of free choice (child initiated) and structured (teacher initiated) activities, which are specifically designed to support their physical, personal, social, emotional and educational development.
Your child’s day will comprise of fun-filled activities including arts & crafts, role-play, exploring & investigating, jolly-phonics literacy & telling stories, shape & number recognition, counting and cooking which take place both indoors and outdoors. Some activities may include messy-play, so packing an extra set of clothes is recommended!
All activities are thoughtfully planned with the individual needs and interests of your child in mind. Activities also follow a set theme or topic, such as ‘Community Helpers’ or ‘In the Garden’ that makes learning even more fun!
Your child will also learn social skills such as listening, discussing and interacting with their friends as well as learning to do things for themselves, such as washing their hands, which encourages independence and develops their confidence. But most of all your child will have FUN!
